Important: Winter Rules for 2025/2026

If you decide to rent a car in Sarajevo, you must know the law. It is strict, for your safety.

1. The Dates: Winter equipment is mandatory from November 1st to April 1st. Ignore old guides that say November 15th.

2. The Tires: The police do not joke around here. Your tires must have a tread depth of at least 4mm.

  • Warning: Some agencies might try to give you summer tires with chains in the trunk. This is dangerous and stressful.
